Glory Day
acrostic
Soaking it in, shirt sleeves, sun dresses, smiles brilliant, given, returned
Everyone in every step enjoying, hoping for just one more like this
Pleasantly hot, that touch of humid hanging in the time past noon
Tenuous grasp, coatless strolls, well aware of fast shortening days
Enjoy while you may, a tomorrow soon will bring Fall’s blustering back
Mid day patio chatting, a corner away, quiet tones, warm looks for two
Behaviour bizarre plays out beside high drama and oh so sad comedy
Early exiting, this stage not for the faint of heart or easily perturbed
Remembrances of sight and sound being stored for wishes on winter days
Dwindling gently away, orb goes yellow to red too fast, long shadows cast
Attuned to that calm silence that precludes the shine off night’s first star
Yielding to evening chill, the last warm ray fades with a promise to return
