Mine is mine and to each their own
so whom are we to pass judgement

One’s choices predicated upon
by how you my dear individual perceive

Reapers, the purveyors of goods grim
honouring both dollar and ritual

But just because you can
does it mean you should indulge the macabre

Incendiary with a highly volatile fuse
fostering unspoken mortification

Done from love by loss
as inherently personal as love’s little death

Memories tactile, both taking away
and in embracing the pain

Open wide to holding up a mirror
reflection upon your hurting self

Morbid, magnificent, maudlin, majestic
what else could be said of selections such

Each and every with their unique curio
memory memorabilia a curious thing

Nature ‘tis of we mournful beasts
displaying in so many ways

Turning cheek, both other and off if you please
my crass, your cats ass

One tap, two tap, three, forever remains in me

Missing Day – Lyric

Missing Day

Lyric – Duet

Up in the morning and the coffee’s on
Sour dough toasting, golden for me
A little cinnamon sugar reminds of you
Not even seven and there’s the phone

Calling early, they just don’t know
Asking me question after question
This mind is nowhere near clear
After nine and my breakfast cold

Out the door angry again
No time to even hit a spot
Getting used to having to wait
Plans, more than just a few

Between you and me…
missing you so bad I can’t even see
Been too long away…
missing you so bad I can barely breathe

People with problems, half past noon
Phone again and it’s not you
It’s getting real easy not to care
Feel like letting the whole world go

Close my eyes and you’re in my head
Just a moment and the moment’s done
What’s been happening here is clear
Back to facing them with no grin

Out the office door angry again
This aint the world I chose
Letting others keep me away
Not for long by my ready plan

Between you and me…
missing you so bad I can’t even see
Been too long away…
missing you so bad I can barely breathe

Way over here so very far away
Locked up in this hunk of a car
Steaming in traffic, so many to salute
Gonna be the end of me wait and see

Phone finally lets me say hello to you
Tried and tried to talk to you
Words with you and my day’s made
Got some news, could hardly wait to tell
One nerve and honey, everybody’s on it
When you get back no more going back
Another curve, don’t think I’ll make it
I’ve only one feeling so don’t hurt it

Finally you found your way home
They told me you’d never of known
Never more will I hear you sing
Never more will I wear that ring

Between you and me,
missing you so bad I can’t see
Been gone not long,
missing you so bad I can’t breathe

Heartless – Lyric

Heartless

Lyric

It begins again in confusion
Some kind of grand illusion
Where it ends there’s no real telling
It’ll come without warning
I’ll be gone
leaving you quietly wondering
So why we starting this story?

It carries on in its fashion
Some nights of grand passion
When it ends there’s no real telling
It’ll come some morning
I’ll be gone
leaving you quietly crying
So why we turning this page?

It fails with a head on collision
Some words of persuasion
Why it ends is because it’s suffocating
It’ll come without you ever believing
I’ll be gone
leaving you quietly hating
So why we playing this romance novel?

I’m gone and… you’re crying
I’m gone and… you’re wondering
I’m gone and… you’re hating
I’m gone and… you had the heartless warning

Left Unsaid

Left Unsaid

Whispers and rustles making the rounds
Sighs and gasps the disbelieving sounds
It’s between us, no one must, couldn’t ever be us

Now we’ve got these suspicious fears with tears
After silently wanting you for so many years
Finding us was a must, we can still be us

Your face burning red, filling me with dread
For everyone’s best, keep it all left unsaid
Now look it’s gone to dust and it can still be us

Minute after minute, hour after hour, time after time
Behind that door where the ridiculous goes to sublime

Whispers and hints of tryst year round
Sighs and love gasps your sleep sounds
This stays between us, no one must, it’s about only us

Now we’ve got no suspicion, only your tears with fears
After silently watching you two all these years
Finding out was a must, you two will have no us

Your mouth running red, didn’t matter that you pled
For everyone’s best, keep it all left unsaid
Now look at all that rust, one word and you’re dust

Behind that door where the ridiculous went to crime
Minute after minute, hour after hour, cry after cry

You don’t even know that you’ve already died

Once Bitten – Lyric

Once Bitten

Lyric

We were young and oh so cool
Back when we were all fools
Feelin’ our way around

Always full of dissension
Lookin’ to cut the oppression
Trying to figure it all out

Everything going so fast
Wondered if some would last
Short days and shorter nights

And you know, oh you know, if you go
once bitten, you’ll never be the same

Parties on the Bluffs
No one ever playin’ tough
That hundred step drop

Fire by the water’s edge
A step out on the ledge
Going hope and a prayer

Walking hip to hip
Hoping for some lips
In to the rising moon

And you know, oh you know, when you go
once bitten, you’ll never be the same

Off in our own little place
Left the others to the case
The tenderness in caress

Those words so softly spoken
Promises not to be broken
Skipping stones and hearts

Waves lapping all around
Night winding its way down
Sailing on the first kiss

And you know, oh you know, that you fell
now bitten, you’ll never be sane
                             once bitten, never the same

The Hundred Steps Toronto early 1900’s

Water Works East End … another way down

Lake Side – Lyric

Lake Side

Lyric

Day dreaming out on the rocks
sun setting the lake ablaze
all but gone the hostage daze
letting down all the blocks

Seeing everything and nothing
heard the call in a lonely tune
made my way through to you
got me some lake side musing

Loving this quiet romance
clouds giving your faces frames
looking like it’s gonna rain
hoping it does so you’ll dance

          ~ Thinkin’ ‘bout desires ~
~ watching my baby walk ~
~ listening to my baby talk ~
~ lightin’ up all my fires ~

Music drifting across the water
a familiar two part fantasy
so far away from the disarray
beauty of the night getting closer

Clouds going from dry to cry
more than a small temptation
way beyond some infatuation
tears just to make you smile

Three part harmony on the dance floor
you, me, and the drops of rain
don’t know who was first to sing
love me…, love me……, make me yours

~ Thinkin’ ‘bout your fire ~
~ watching my baby walk ~
~ listening to my baby talk ~
~ lightin’ up all your desire ~

Girls Rite – Lyric

Girls Rite

Lyric

You hear them, it’s the shame every time
They’ve all had it happen, been torn apart
Now another one’s got the no romance blues
They’re together to get another over a him

See it playing in the eyes of each one
The hell that goes on in a single girl’s mind
The smug satisfied looks of the married kind
Drinks raised to how she’s not come undone

Glasses go up, the smiles turn down
Cheer goes down, the burning starts up

You hear the broken one laying him out
Some of them silently nod or sadly smile
Others pretending with their lipstick service
The call goes out for, “Whiskers on Kittens”

See the red stains on their pearly whites
Bloody finger nails clawing in the air
All but one singing, “Hit The Road Jack”
From here it sounds like he escaped Jill

Glasses go up, the smiles stay down
Cheer winds down, the burning speeds up

You hear loud and clear what she says he said
Bobble heads nodding to the every word is true tune
Before one more minute goes by, not a dry eye
Some of them wearing the crocodile glycerin stain

See them congratulating their pretty ugly selves
Being a weapon of emasculation hasn’t set with one
Singing the sister’s song didn’t set her free
She might even say but, it’s now half past two

Glasses go down, the smiles now frowns
Cheer winds up, those whiskers dried up
Goodnight you kittens who’ll never need mittens

You No More – Lyric

You No More

(Lyric)

Sometimes you just know
just know you got no more
no more love left to give

You’ve gone round and round
and round one more time
more time won’t change this back

I’ve stood down and I’ve stood up
stood up when others talked down
down when I knew you lied again (rest 2 3 4)

You gotta know your hold is gone
You gotta know there’s no more
You gotta know, I gave you all, all, all… of me
Oh Oh…, you gotta know… (rest 2 3 4)

There’s gonna be someone else
someone else after I’m over you
over you and your ghost is gone

You never loved what you had
you had someone who just cared
just cared about you and no other

Won’t have hands holding my heart
my loving heart belongs beside another
beside another that knows how to love (rest 2 3 4)

You gotta know your hold is gone
You gotta know there’s no more
You gotta know, I gave you all, all, all… of me
Oh Oh…, you gotta know… (rest 2 3 4)

In love all alone had to end…
had to end so I could be free…
be free to love another… (rest 2 3 4)

You gotta know, I’ll give her all, all, all… of me
Oh Oh…, you gotta know… Oh Oh…, you gotta know…
she’ll be good to only me

In The Quiet Of The Night – Lyric

In The Quiet Of The Night

(Lyric)

Half past midnight and finally free
free from the demands of a clamoring world
World moving so fast it’s hard to keep your feet
feet feel like miles and the miles feel like hell
Hell just might be the better place to hang
hang until these blues fade back to black

So so good to be here alone
alone with the quiet of the night

Tryin’ to drift away like in that old song
song in my heart that’ll maybe save my soul
Soul feels like it’s been laid out bare
bare and stripped away from the bone
Bone tired with a mind gone out of touch
touch is something that I’ve been out of too

So so good to be here alone
alone with the quiet of the night

Heart needs to let the head fly free
free to make a little fantasy flight
Flight from here to there with no ticket to return
return for what when there’s no who at home
Home as empty as the liars solemn promise
promise of the wish made on a shooting star

So so good to be here alone
alone with the quiet of the night

Stars fading in and out among the clouds
clouds drifting away to where they go
Go quietly with that good night they do
Do I or don’t I just blindly turn away
Away with the blues and the black too
too many nights left to go on lonely but…

So so good to be here alone
alone and living with the quiet of the night

Fallen Angel – Lyric

Fallen Angel

Lyric

Newly fallen she wakes to a different world today
And she’s never
never been on her own before
Went from home on the hill to a home on loan
And she doesn’t have
have even a single soul she can call
Tears are dried, makeup’s so artfully applied
And when she leaves
leaves the door to her heart locked up tight

Prowling round, lost and won’t be found
Angel fell from such an unhappy place
Angel landed in such a strange space
Angel with no smile on her face

The turning heads say she’s coming this way
And there she is
she’s the haunted hunting kind
Nails tapping out some tune only she knows
And she’s marking time
time stepping along the broken road of her life
Not seeing at all and seeing everyone she passed by
And she’s aloof
aloof in the world that’s her lonely desire

Prowling round, lost and can’t be found
Angel fell from a place of fame
Angel landed in the space of blame
Angel with the face of shame

Spends her day roaming blindly from shop to shock
And she cries
cries tears that no one will ever see fall
Heads her way home to die a little more behind that door
And she hates
hates that tomorrow is just one more heartless day
One more loveless day gone in a broken angel’s paradise
And she wants
wants the world to turn again for her for just one day
