I Can’t Stay

I Can’t Stay

Lyric

Your tears fall on the seed you planted
Your plan for the perfect man you wanted
Those words taking me for granted
Those words leaving me haunted

I keep talking and you don’t hear
I keep showing and you aren’t there
Where are you when it’s me that’s laid bare
Where are you when I need the love and care

And I’ve been calling, calling to say

Oh darlin, I’m not just for fawning
a pet in your garden party
Oh darlin’ I want to dance
but not in your garden party
Oh darlin’ I ‘m not going to stay
on display in your garden party

You made our plans without me
You made so many things hard to see
The times I begged you to listen and believe
The times you ignored me when I’d grieve

I tried everything to get through
I had to tell my heart it isn’t you
What happened isn’t some thing new
What happened is only one heart spoke true

And I’m still calling, still calling to say

Oh darlin, I’m not just for fawning
a pet in your garden party
Oh darlin’ I want to dance
but not in your garden party
Oh darlin’ I ‘m not going to stay
on display in your garden party

Oh darlin’ oh oh oh oh darlin’
I can’t stay
Darlin’ I had to say
I can’t stay
Oh darlin
I just can’t stay

Rainy Day Play

Rainy Day Play

Lyric

Rain clouds, big frowns
moping around all over town
Let a smile be my umbrella
now I’m damn near drowned
Tired of these hundred and
fifty thousand shades of grey
Come on wind, whip, whip, whip
whisk those pissing clouds away

Been running in a mood for days
don’t see it changing real soon
Not in any mood for anyone’s wit
tired of the puddle jumper waltz
Head down and going horizon bound
still thinking I’m gonna drown
Rain, rain go away come again
say about six months from June

trudging along under the pouring weather
cold rain soaking through the leather
trying hard to keep it all together

Muse Rainy Day Play 01

trudged along under the pouring weather
cold rain soaked through the leather
tomorrow is already looking better
happy I got all mine sort of together

cold rain soaking through the leather
trying hard to keep it all together

Found her down on the Carrillo shore
she’s not caring that the weather pours
Ankle deep in the breaking waves
head bowed and tilting at the wind
Hear her swearing she aint going
she’s not ever going back to that hotel
Catches me catching her crazy storm
Now I’ worry about her harping on me

Just gonna keep right on waltzing by
got my own crazy self to talk to
She’s got such a lovely face
she’s cries about that Camarillo place
Who ever stops for their hospitality
brillo pad scrubbed and scarred
Singing how people are so typical
the truth is the place aint mythical

trudged along under the pouring weather
cold rain soaked through the leather
tomorrow is already looking better
happy I got all mine sort of together

Hazed and Confused

Hazed and Confused

Sailing unawares on your way today
Moving with a purpose only you know
Maybe it’s finally something that’ll be real
At least enough so you can make believe

Glamour girl gets her skirt caught in a twirl
Hair flip with the hapless I’m helpless giggle
Set free by the kindness of one of your strangers
Off you go leaving a wake of stalking heads

Should’ve taken the umbrella because,
because it looks like pain
I can see and it looks like,
like you’re headed for hell
Not a place for you,
you’re not going to fare well
You can trust me because,
because everyone knows I’m insane

Surprised to hear voices calling cats
Treats herself that the slights just imagined
Tricks of conscience kick start the reality train
Night scares turn over in to stormy days

Loving so many who don’t love her
Doesn’t understand how to be alone
She can’t stand going home on her own
No other girls she can tell her fears

She’s only one way to hide from voices
Taking solace in some lucky one’s arms
You look down, she tells you she loves you
You get up telling her you can’t love her

Should’ve taken the umbrella because,
because here comes the pain
I can see and it looks like,
like you’re already in hell
Not a place for you,
you’re already not doing well
You can trust me because,
because like you, I’m insane

Marked

Marked

Among all the other smiles
There you were dancing free
Your gypsy skirt flying high
Girl you caught more than my eye

Couldn’t help but watch you move
Hair water falling down your back
You caught me staring madly
Saw your eyes make me your mark

Keeping time with those devilish hips
Lips sending me your angel kiss
Gypsy woman crooks her fingertip
Calling with her wiles to play her game

The same music keeps playing on
Everyone with their own old verse
Those others don’t have the sense to go
We gotta romance and they’re in the road

Shattering

Shattering

All round the world, love is deceiving
Mountains of love have been moved
Ashes and residues, marking such proved
Disciples crow that they are the deserving

Look hard, look twice at what you know
You think your wiles make everyone smile
Please see there are some whom you revile
Living to love when craving life’s marrow

Each and every way, not trying to understand
A null place, your heart‘s on your worn face
Stings under veils, still showing every trace
Angels in tattered wings working their plan

Night’s glitter faded to day wear tarnish
The door closes behind the window to your hole
Longingly watching, the abyss sinks your soul
You hang to hope knowing you’re about to perish

Warning Signs – Lyric

Warning Signs

Lyric

(chorus)
Once upon a time, there was a time
Wasn’t much in way of reasoning
Ignored all your flashing eyes warning signs

(verse)
From here to there and back to there from here
Can’t quite keep straight what I’m supposed to do
Don’t quite know where I’m supposed to go
This lovin’ baby of mine, got me so I just don’t know

When she’s here she’s gone somewhere else
The calls keep dropping, she can’t say why
Got so many questions you’re going to have to hear
Any one answer could break this lovin’ heart

(chorus)
Once upon a time, there was a time
Wasn’t much in way of reasoning
Ignored all your flashing eyes warning signs

(verse)
More and more feeling I’ve made myself blind
I don’t know what’s got you getting in so late
Would you let me know if you’d found a new flame
Wondering how much more of your lovin’ I can take

Desires died, just like pissing out the fire at night
Almost believe it’s how you wanted this to go
This disinterest is our death so we gotta part
No grave yard sighs, thanks for the lovin’ and goodbye

(chorus end)
Once upon a time, there was a time
Wasn’t much in way of reasoning
Should of paid attention to your signs of the times

1 Little Black Dressed is collaboration that is very special.
Living out life in a gleeful rage
Innocence in this smile, tricks in another
The sweetness of the slaughter upon the lips
The second-hand silk is only a tease

you’d become not just another face

If Only – Lyric

If Only

Lyric

Walking on home alone,
that old bell softly chimes
Passing right on by,
the tower bell strikes again
Falling farther behind
that niggling bell tolls once more

now it’s gone to three
world’s turning quietly
alone in the night
and it’s mostly alright
if only you were here…
if only you were here with me…

Feels like I’m missing
more than a few chimes of my own
Wondering why I even said
this place isn’t striking me as home
Really starting to understand
It’s me for whom that bell is tolling

Everything tangling me up
get so damned lost sometimes
Mind turning it end over round
keep expecting that lost key to show
Walking around thinking way too much
hoping this magic hasn’t got lost

now it’s half past three
world’s turning quietly
alone in the night
and it’s not alright
if only, if only you were here…
if only, if only…
if only you were here with me…

If only I could just walk over
leave this lost feeling behind
If only I could just touch your smile
let you see love isn’t lost
If only I could so tenderly say
only my mind was lost

now it’s long, long past three
world’s brightening quickly
alone in the light
and it’s gonna get right
it wasn’t freedom chiming
the lightning did strike
now it’s time to pay the toll

if only…
if only…
if only you’ll believe
believe when I say I’m sorry

Curios

Curios

Curios

Curios

Mine is mine and to each their own
so whom are we to pass judgement

One’s choices predicated upon
by how you my dear individual perceive

Reapers, the purveyors of goods grim
honouring both dollar and ritual

But just because you can
does it mean you should indulge the macabre

Incendiary with a highly volatile fuse
fostering unspoken mortification

Done from love by loss
as inherently personal as love’s little death

Memories tactile, both taking away
and in embracing the pain

Open wide to holding up a mirror
reflection upon your hurting self

Morbid, magnificent, maudlin, majestic
what else could be said of selections such

Each and every with their unique curio
memory memorabilia a curious thing

Nature ‘tis of we mournful beasts
displaying in so many ways

Turning cheek, both other and off if you please
my crass, your cats ass

One tap, two tap, three, forever remains in me
