Once Bitten – Lyric

Once Bitten

Lyric

We were young and oh so cool
Back when we were all fools
Feelin’ our way around

Always full of dissension
Lookin’ to cut the oppression
Trying to figure it all out

Everything going so fast
Wondered if some would last
Short days and shorter nights

And you know, oh you know, if you go
once bitten, you’ll never be the same

Parties on the Bluffs
No one ever playin’ tough
That hundred step drop

Fire by the water’s edge
A step out on the ledge
Going hope and a prayer

Walking hip to hip
Hoping for some lips
In to the rising moon

And you know, oh you know, when you go
once bitten, you’ll never be the same

Off in our own little place
Left the others to the case
The tenderness in caress

Those words so softly spoken
Promises not to be broken
Skipping stones and hearts

Waves lapping all around
Night winding its way down
Sailing on the first kiss

And you know, oh you know, that you fell
now bitten, you’ll never be sane
                             once bitten, never the same

Haunting Her – Lyric

Haunting Her

Lyric

Unseen she stepped inside
Know it’s her by the steps
She stares straight ahead
Her face kept firmly set

Padding past the tables
Moving straight on through
Glassy eyes somewhere far
Waiting her turn in Queue

Hear her talking at the till
Voice that completely engulfs
She’s lets out a little laugh
Sees me talking to myself

          What’s got you lady blue
Where are you so far away
Won’t you sit for just a few

Coming back round again
Know she’s seeing everything
Always a table just for you
On her own with what’s disturbing

See her reflection in the glass
Does she know what they took
Lady blue where’s your spark
Had to see my wondering look

Leaving quietly like she came
There’s no smiles or waves
If I could tell you what I see
Only lonely as she leaves

          What’s got you lady blue
Where are you so far away
Couldn’t you of sit for just a few

Lake Side – Lyric

Lake Side

Lyric

Day dreaming out on the rocks
sun setting the lake ablaze
all but gone the hostage daze
letting down all the blocks

Seeing everything and nothing
heard the call in a lonely tune
made my way through to you
got me some lake side musing

Loving this quiet romance
clouds giving your faces frames
looking like it’s gonna rain
hoping it does so you’ll dance

          ~ Thinkin’ ‘bout desires ~
~ watching my baby walk ~
~ listening to my baby talk ~
~ lightin’ up all my fires ~

Music drifting across the water
a familiar two part fantasy
so far away from the disarray
beauty of the night getting closer

Clouds going from dry to cry
more than a small temptation
way beyond some infatuation
tears just to make you smile

Three part harmony on the dance floor
you, me, and the drops of rain
don’t know who was first to sing
love me…, love me……, make me yours

~ Thinkin’ ‘bout your fire ~
~ watching my baby walk ~
~ listening to my baby talk ~
~ lightin’ up all your desire ~

Lost And Found – Lyric

Lost And Found

Lyric

The times wearing me on down
no time for any little thing
Sprung from the trap you set
gonna take the fast road back
Minds been made up for days
not giving explanations
Packed for the morning run
stalking off down ninety-five

Lost and found, then on the run again
Lost and found, then given up on again
Lost and found, then lost again and again

Wondering how I’d let things go so far
why I hadn’t told you so sooner
Won’t ever regret calling your truth
washed your living lie off me
You said you gave all your heart
lie was that you gave it to me
Found your first love on my time
no denying the worst no one needs

Lost and found, then on the run again
Lost and found, then given up on again
Lost and found, then lost again and again

Turning the key brings freedoms sweet roar
highway companion on the ready road
Salt fresh air and a see nothing stare
throwing all your words to the wind
Looking for where hell met heaven
a day the sun kissed the moon
Miles clicking by at an alarming rate
one more hour and this heart can’t wait

Lost and found, hearts running again
Lost and found, hearts not giving up again
Lost and found, heart’s alive and loving again

Enigma

Enigma

Under heaven, over hell
Love travels Dirty water
At Abbey Road, Crossroads
Grave dancers union

Secrets and sins
Appetite for destruction
Bridge of sighs
No end in sight

Odyssey and oracle
Words of the prophets
Guillotines and angel wings
Blood on the tracks

Smoke from a distant fire
Harden my heart
The rising, New beginning
Learning to live

A couple weeks back me and “Good Friend” were chattering and Good Friend suggested I do a poem from the titles of songs. Somewhat daunting but not as much so as the thought I’d had about making poetry from lines of different songs. Those two scenarios are akin to asking me which, “Jelly Belly” is my favourite in the delivery truck heading to stock the Candy Store.

A couple days ago I had Spotify open on my “Songs” list page. The thought and urge to create poetry from Album Titles got me.

You read the poetry which is all “Album Titles”. Below is the list of Artists as they appear in, “Enigma”.

Everyone’s Girl – Lyric

Everyone’s Girl

Lyric

Her days don’t begin before three
Her nights spent in party grove
Never seen the sun go down
Seen it coming up so damn often
More times than you’d care to know

She’s the one they all want,
She’s the one they wanna take home
She’s the one they’ll kiss and cry for
She’s everyone’s girl

See her prowling in neon blue
Shining like a sapphire mine
Turning all those gawking heads
Growling at the whistling wolves
Giving them the tail swish kiss

She’s the one they all want,
She’s the one they wanna take home
She’s the one they’ll kiss and lie for
She’s everyone’s girl

She loves those night lights
She owns the city streets
Girl just loves to cruise
Done up to the nines
Loaded and easy on the eyes

She’s the one they all want,
She’s the one they wanna take home
She’s the one they’ll kiss and die for
She’s everyone’s girl
Everyone’s girl, my drive

No More Yesterday’s – Lyric

No More Yesterday’s

(Lyric)

There were those who’d gone ahead
Learned the ropes and roads and dread
Some came and shared their mind
Others struggled and suffered and died
No one ever got out completely alive

Time hasn’t healed all our wounds
Easier now standing dressed and proud
Told the only way to win was not to play
Left choices to those we entrusted our fate
Now freedom calls us to shine another day

Can’t go back cuz there’s no more yesterdays
Won’t go back cuz there’s no more yesterdays
          Already lived your yesterdays

So few right and too many wrong plans
Time has come to make another stand
Not going to wear the dreams they drape
Can’t let them drain us to fill their grail
This trip around no one is going to escape

There’s a new train leaving the station
Going to be a change in world relation
Angry faces with voices of dispute
None wanting freedom will be left out
Finally freed from their absolutes

Can’t go back cuz there’s no more yesterdays
Won’t go back cuz there’s no more yesterdays
          Already lived your yesterdays

Once Again – Lyric

Once Again

Lyric

Once again freedom’s crying
ringing out while on the run
It falls to the old ones
those who long ago came of age
We’re going to have to show them
teach our children’s children well
Their parents already lost
gone to the combine’s blade

Here we are once again, now we’re counting on you
We saw ours to the end, now it’s you to see yours through

Our whole world’s under attack
some screaming no salvation
Old and young on the life line
together we make the stand
Until this threat to freedom is taken down
gone away and with a plan
Leave the lost ones to bake their heads
jacked in for their electronic feedings

Here we are once again, now we’re counting on you
We saw ours to the end, now it’s you to see yours through

Shadow figure sedition taking the news social
solicitous we, searching out the blight
The war against the dictators can be won
screamers of the oppressive regimes silenced
When you doubt and when you stumble
we’ll be right there to help you along
None will be left when we’re done
freedom, for our children’s, children’s, children

Here we are once again, now we’re counting on you
We saw ours to the end, now it’s you to see yours through

Falling Apart – Lyric

Falling Apart

(Lyric)

These days are almighty long
the nights so lonely
Giving the best for the cheque
spending nights in hazy dread
Remembering those afternoon delights
now none and nowhere to be found

Born to be worn on
worn on down
set down deep

Flew far from what wasn’t home
so much done with no regret
Climbing on to the last dance dream
never noticed the music end
Left alone to the falling apart
the hopes all slipping away

Born to be worn on
worn on down
set down deep

Young they say is wasted on the young
thirty-three and don’t remember when
Mirror, mirror where’d it all go
lines long as sidewalk cracks
What’s left not what it started out to be
no one to run to too tell

Born to be worn on
worn on down
set down deep

No solace, no consolation prize
can’t even get blind
There’s so little point anymore
it’s all fallen apart
Tears from a lost life dripping
drying on the gun in hand

Born to be worn on
worn on down
set down deep
down deep in the ground

Girls Rite – Lyric

Girls Rite

Lyric

You hear them, it’s the shame every time
They’ve all had it happen, been torn apart
Now another one’s got the no romance blues
They’re together to get another over a him

See it playing in the eyes of each one
The hell that goes on in a single girl’s mind
The smug satisfied looks of the married kind
Drinks raised to how she’s not come undone

Glasses go up, the smiles turn down
Cheer goes down, the burning starts up

You hear the broken one laying him out
Some of them silently nod or sadly smile
Others pretending with their lipstick service
The call goes out for, “Whiskers on Kittens”

See the red stains on their pearly whites
Bloody finger nails clawing in the air
All but one singing, “Hit The Road Jack”
From here it sounds like he escaped Jill

Glasses go up, the smiles stay down
Cheer winds down, the burning speeds up

You hear loud and clear what she says he said
Bobble heads nodding to the every word is true tune
Before one more minute goes by, not a dry eye
Some of them wearing the crocodile glycerin stain

See them congratulating their pretty ugly selves
Being a weapon of emasculation hasn’t set with one
Singing the sister’s song didn’t set her free
She might even say but, it’s now half past two

Glasses go down, the smiles now frowns
Cheer winds up, those whiskers dried up
Goodnight you kittens who’ll never need mittens
