Quoth Me #15 – The Books

What all religions must learn is their book is man made and not heaven sent. You are ordered by God to give up your respective books and get on with peaceful humanity.

God is busy painting a universe and expects those on this insignificant fly speck of the universal canvas to manage themselves.

Not working out real well is it. Not a question.

I make no secret of being nondenominational.

I make it known widely that I am spiritual.

“We” see Christianity under attack. “We” see Islam under attack. “We” see Judaism under attack. Why they are under attack is not a surprise to the spiritual and the nondenominational. They are under attack for their imposition. Imposition of will is going to have repercussion and is not a surprise.

“We” is me and God.

How do I know that is what God said? For the same reason I know there is God. I proved it. God appreciated me proving it and on occasion will talk to me.

The burden is on you to disprove God talks to me. If nothing else it’ll keep y’all busy for an ungodly amount of time and away from doing stupid shit to each other!

Quoth Me #14 – Mindful Creation

Quoth Me #14

The brain is just a support mechanism for the mind. Nothing can be real outside of the mind if it is not first real inside the mind.

I saw a posted quote (below) and while it is correct and good I thought that the quote didn’t touch the mind enough.

A while back I was introduced to OBI, Ontario Brain Institute so I went and had a look at their site. When I landed the splash screen had a statement that space wasn’t the final frontier and the brain is.

When I saw that statement I immediately thought, “the brain is just a support mechanism for the mind”. I’ve bounced this off a few people in discussion and they agreed. Yes, the brain autonomously controls a vast array of bodily function.

Everything I create is real in my head before it becomes real in word or image. I can see it in my mind before it goes down. Inventors see their creation fully functional before their work is physically manifested. Of course there is trial and error and that does not change the reality of existence. The physical manifestation is the logical conclusion of the reality not a second creation.

Quoth Me #13 – I’m Never Wrong

I may not always be right, but I am never wrong.

Bold statement that, “I’m Never Wrong”. I’m certain there were more than a few raised eye brows among other things raised looking at the title. Yeah I’m perceptive and cognitive, no need to enlighten me with what was raised!

This is how I have arrived at the statement made.

If I know something, I say so.
If I don’t know something, I say so.
If I’m not sure of something, I say so.

If I have an understanding of something, I say so. I’ll also explain how I came to the understanding of what ever that something is.

I’ll ask you if you have something to offer to help me better understand what I don’t know. I will listen to what you say and thank you for that something you offered up. If what you tell me of that something so I have better knowledge is contradictory to what I understand, I will explore it for myself and find what is correct and move it in to the category of something I know.

You’re now free to decide for yourself and assign validity or not to my statement.

Quoth Me #12 – Successful Result

The more people that know of the true condition of those they have to work with, the better the chances of a successful result.

Better the devil you know.

An old adage and a darn good one.I’ve stated previously I’m not a fan of the word cliche. My thesaurus describes “cliche” as trite and obvious. Now an “adage” is different something we can get behind!

In our working life we have to deal with a large number of personalities.We have very few options in our working life and must work within the structure to resolve issues and disputes.

We all want to be successful. We all want to get ahead. None of us want to be taken advantage of or taken for granted. Speaking up, standing up is not wrong, In fact it is very right. When people know you will stand up for yourself and be accountable for what you say and it is noticed and for the most part, appreciated.

By demonstrating the stand up, speak up it gives you credibility when you call others on their behaviour. Many times making what you see known to an individual isn’t given consideration by that individual. For whatever reason, they don’t take what you told them privately under consideration.

In some cases others have brought matters to the individual’s attention and not had success either. When this takes place what invariably happens is open complaining takes place. There are those who still see nothing wrong in how they’re conducting themselves and truly believe everyone but them is wrong.

That is an unfortunate circumstance because it tends to leave the offending individual isolated and when vulnerable, unassisted.

In our personal lives we can rid ourselves of those that are to our own minds impossible to deal with. Be rid of those that aggravate us no end. Removing yourself from those, when you can, that are having that effect on you is a good decision. There are exceptions of course.

It is worth trying to resolve issues with those in our personal lives before ridding ourselves of those people.

Knowing how to talk to them and others for that matter is vitally important! I said in my “The Rules Of Life” piece that you can say anything you want and I meant it. I also said you just can’t say it any way you want and I meant that too.

Quoth Me #11 – Righteous!

Watch what you write so you get it right so a wright won’t have to be sent to perform a rite on you!

I sent that sentence to a colleague a number of years ago in response to an error made by one of the individuals in the department my colleague was in charge of. I wasn’t pleased that someone didn’t do their job and I had to straighten out the problem caused by the individual who made the error.

So you know, it wasn’t the first time I’d had to do that. The way I conveyed my displeasure, making the point with consideration. The individuals boss was my boss at one time and knew from dealing with me for a few years that I was supremely perturbed. The manner in which I conveyed the matter was also very much appreciated. Point made without a rant or anyone being embarrassed.

It is about paying attention to what you do. Bad enough that being inattentive can cause you grief. Even worse when your inattention causes a problem for someone else.

And if you wanna have some fun with people, ask them to spell, “write” and then tell them, “no, not that one”.

MAJIK. For the true makers, we are allowed to spell it as such. Verily, we can conceive of no other way to spell it when we write of our SPELL making.

This quoth me was derived from a response I made to the following comment on LINKEDIN, “what is written without effort is in general read without pleasure“.

Some of us can write when we think and write when we don’t think. It’s called MAJIK. I can and do, do it. I have it and those others who have it and can also make MAJIK. We have been granted by the Gods Of Creation that gift.

Some of the things we do are thoughtless and happen oh so very quickly. They are not and never are effortless.

When the majik happens, just flows out of you in to creation it is a beautiful thing. The physical and emotional feelings I have when it is happening are incredible. The feeling when the piece finishes, I call completion euphoria. Physically and emotionally the feeling is so incredibly satisfying.

All 3 of these of mine were “effortless” and I have others that were thoughtless and not effortless.

C’s and D’s in Coaching

C’s and D’s in Coaching

I put up a series called, “Triple D”. That series comprises three words, Deny, Defer and Deflect.

I am a Certified Professional Coach. I see those behaviours in people often. Those three words are in my practice the Secondary Words. Those three words need to be worked through to move forward and beyond whatever the issue, matter or fear may be that is preventing an individual’s change from their current state to what they are striving for.

The primary words for me in my practice are these, Cognitive, Considerate and Caring. I haven’t done up imagery pieces with “The Little Bear” on this set so linking to the meanings will have to suffice in the moment.

If you genuinely have and bring those three “C” words to practice you can work effectively through the “D” words with an individual to achieve a successful result.

Both of those word sets have subsets. The “Tertiary” or 3^rd in degree if you like. You can take individual components of those two word sets and combine them, blend them just like mixing colours to form a different tone or hue. A few of the combinations include, Cognitive Deference, Considerate Denial and Caring Deflection.

I’m certain you can put together other combinations of those two sets and derive the conjoined meanings.

People I’ve worked with can join those “C” and “D” words together too. Some of those people do not recognize what they’re doing. Fortunately I do recognize and understand!

Recognizing the action is a critical imperative to being successful. How you make the person you’re working with aware when they aren’t aware or calling the individual who is aware of the behaviour is dependent on the Coach’s own style. The Coach has to empower all three of those “C” words when making the Coachee cognizant of their action and that their Coach sees and understands the behaviour.

As a Coach, if you can make the C’s and D’s really work for you, I foresee you having many A+ returns!
