Beach Bound – Lyric Poetry

Beach Bound

Lyric

Been working an all night day
Now there’s time for a little fun
Sun’s making its morning run
Blinding in my rear view all the way

Don’t care what’s been left behind
Wheeling this old chevy 57 top down
Wind’s blowing my hair all around
Heading for where the girls are fine

Rolling again along this same old road
Hoping again to find someone of my own to hold

Got the sounds blasting on the radio
Station’s hitting all my favourite tunes
Smiling thinking what’ll be on those dunes
Just another hours cruising to the show

Drifting along the passing white lines
Summer heat raising up road shimmers
Beach girl thoughts giving me shivers
Gotta get some of those flashing smiles

Still rolling along this same old road
Still hoping to find someone of my own to hold

Sound’s get that pedal dropping down
Baby Blue rolling like she’s gonna fly
Her lullaby rocking me through the ride
Getting closer to that sea side town

Slow curves ahead says the yellow sign
Mind thinking that warning is wrong
Parked her right by a beauty with a song
Hopped out and she stops me with a line

Won’t stop driving that same old road
Won’t stop hoping until I’ve one of my own to hold

transitionu – 2015 in review

2015 in review

It was a long strange year. I added a 2nd blog to my public life. I found the need to separate church and state so to speak. There were things I felt belonged off on their own as personal commentary on events and encounters.

The transitionu space is about the Coaching and the Arts with some observation commentary that contains coping skill lessons. Hell, everything I do is observational.

With the addition of SPASM I have a place where I can better air things I’ve encountered that boggle my mind and irk me. As someone who does answer rhetorical questions and well, the boggle doesn’t last long!

I’ve enjoyed the last year. Asking me what my favourite piece posted is, well you might as well ask me what my favourite jelly bean in the jar is. I like everything I’ve posted, a lot because the works are here for the world to see. I don’t post up just for the sake of posting. Not my style and never will be.

I love having this place to express myself and show my skills.

I had hoped to get to 75 countries and came up 7 short at 68. People from 68 countries reading and looking at what I have to say and show. Wrapping my head around that many people in so many places, at times is bit overwhelming and at other times very satisfying!

I do what I do for me. Writing and helping and the visual art are me. I am a creative. That so many others have taken to and from what I’ve said or shown, it gives me the warm fuzzies!

You can have a look at what WordPress sent me. Say hello, leave a comment, enjoy your stay and please come back again.

Happiest of this year, 2016, and all years to come to all of you!

Thank you for dropping in.

The WordPress.com stats helper monkeys prepared a 2015 annual report for this blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

A New York City subway train holds 1,200 people. This blog was viewed about 5,800 times in 2015. If it were a NYC subway train, it would take about 5 trips to carry that many people.

Crystal Clearing

Crystal Clearing

Brilliant cascades, fiery flights, incandescent pools, frozen falls
Infrastructure fractures, steeply stepped, reaching to placid plateaus
Stalagmites, stalactites, delicate prisms bending light in multi hues
Making way deeper down, finding path leading to the higher ground
Upward onward, climbing easily, touching curiously the glowing canopy
Turning, turning, a kaleidoscope, the world below in patterns and colours
Heaven in earth, satisfied smiles, the gifts of one cavernous underground

The First Lennon This Morning

Today my first is “Imagine”. Now it is 35 years since he was killed.

The world is visibly much worse in 2015 than it was 2014. Battle lines have become more defined. Anger and fear are greater.

All of us owe it to ourselves to be informed. Our best counter to BOMBastic rhetoric is to be informed. Read, read read and then read some more. Don’t just look at one or two view points that are the same view that agree with your anger or alleviate your fear. Read 5 or 6 different perspectives so you can get a clearer picture of the picture.

I have 6 print and 6 electronic in my news feeds. All come down the line off one site. No I don’t spend hours pouring over 12 sites. I doubt I would if I had the time. What it gives me is a fast way to get to what I want information about.

We all have to be relevant and we all have to be as well informed as we can be to be relevant.

The First Lennon This Morning

December 8 is always a tough day for me. I’m hearing the first of what will be many of this man’s songs today.

What’s playing is, (Just Like) Starting Over.

I can remember, see where I was when I heard.

A usual morning, up and in to the bathroom to get the day going. Flip on the radio and start brushing my teeth and then I heard. John Lennon was shot and is dead. I can still see my face in the mirror. If there is a look for shock and loss, the look on my face was it.

My best friend at that time and I used to go back and forth on who do you like better and why. Lets be real clear here, we like them both, a lot! For him it was McCartney and for me it was, and still is…

Quoth Me #14 – Mindful Creation

Quoth Me #14

The brain is just a support mechanism for the mind. Nothing can be real outside of the mind if it is not first real inside the mind.

I saw a posted quote (below) and while it is correct and good I thought that the quote didn’t touch the mind enough.

A while back I was introduced to OBI, Ontario Brain Institute so I went and had a look at their site. When I landed the splash screen had a statement that space wasn’t the final frontier and the brain is.

When I saw that statement I immediately thought, “the brain is just a support mechanism for the mind”. I’ve bounced this off a few people in discussion and they agreed. Yes, the brain autonomously controls a vast array of bodily function.

Everything I create is real in my head before it becomes real in word or image. I can see it in my mind before it goes down. Inventors see their creation fully functional before their work is physically manifested. Of course there is trial and error and that does not change the reality of existence. The physical manifestation is the logical conclusion of the reality not a second creation.

Sharma Quote

Brushing Silk

Brushing Silk

Seeing you walking through the room
Heads turn, eyes wanting, lips talking
On the stroll, others flashing smiles
Under that spell you cast, they all fall

Looking this way, melting my resolve
Doubtful the emotions pull can be stopped
Every eye follows you all the way to me
Rising up on your toes, this head dips low

Touching fingers, brushing thighs, tossing locks
Once around you’re spun, then half way again
Kindred and breathy, endearments tickling ears
Insolent lips taking time to find the neck’s nape

Scent of bitter orange rising, tempting sweetly
Secure and sure, safely wrapped in love’s arms
One kiss, lips linger, another kiss near the other
Nearing shoulders point, one last kiss, a promise for tonight

Quoth Me # 6 – Life’s Chapters

Quoth Me # 6
Life’s Chapters

My story like everyone’s is in chapters. The chapters make their way to the page. The pages make their way to the world. The world is free to read my chapters and decide for itself if sharing those chapters of life have bettered the world.

Stirring

Stirring

Dripping juice of the peach
Delicately tracing its way down
Encouraged along by a gentle finger
Spread in slow circles on buttermilk thighs
